The Thief of Secrets is an exciting adventure of self discovery intertwined with historical fiction. Celma does a wonderful job using exotic places and powerful characters to create a lively page turning novel. I look foward to reading her next book.

This is a fascinating story of a woman's personal journey within a larger historical adventure. The author's descriptions of places and time draw the reader deep into this enthralling tale. A truly a delightful read! I was immediately drawn in to the story from the first chapter. I enjoyed the superb character development and the attention to detail that was used to "show" the reader all of the exotic settings. Great read! Historical fiction about Magellan's voyage and much more. The author intertwines the present and past flawlessly. We read this for my bookclub and had some interesting discussions.
My husband also enjoyed it and I have recommended it to both my teenage sons.

I have never really been into history, but this book was fascinating. I was hooked after the first page..it was one of those books that you finish in three days because you just can't put it down. I loved this book. It reminded me of "The Da Vinci Code", but with a strong central character who is a woman. This is a story you have to pay attention to. It takes you all over the world, backwards and forwards in time, following smart and brave Marina Mendes. Marina's life becomes filled with danger and intrigue when she is introduced to a mystery involving the great explorer Magellan. The way the story weaves incidents in her life, choices she makes and historical detail makes this a very exciting read. Celma's writing is fresh and surprising with a plot that keeps you guessing until the very end. I can't wait for her next novel and hope that it continues the story of Marina. Vera W.
